Iron Chef Cat Kora presented the Vanguard award to Drew Barrymore, who spent most of the night laughing with on-again-off-again on-again beau Justin Long, but who then took on a more serious tone when it was her time to speak."The thing that means the most to me about an evening like this," the actress Drew Barrymore said, "or why I want to fight and be outspoken about this is because there are so many people who are in desperate need of family. Whatever government issues we have to overcome, whatever adversity people have to overcome to create these families and have the legal issues out of the way so that love can exist and people can be taken care of, that is the most important thing in the world, that we take care of each other."
